The two top forums on the internet today that sole purpose is to either enlighten or deceive one on internet affiliate marketing have to be wickedfire and digitalpoint. These forums are both fully packed with internet marketing information. One cannot take the information from these forums for granted because you can loose your money and sometimes your ego when participating. I will now proceed to explain my experiences with both.
Wickedfire.com
Wickedfire.com is the forum were all the affiliate marketing jocks hangout. The moment you participate in having your questions answered it is immediately scrutinized. Especially if you're a noobie. If you're such a animal you will be torn into shreds by the likes of Nickycakes and Shady SEO.
The preferred conduct by many of the regulars in this forum is that they would like it that you use the search feature to look for the information first
before asking for any advice. Don't even bother in asking for free advice or worse yet, how you made your first affiliate commissions cause your just asking to be ripped up. I do believe that this forums has to be the best out of all the forums on the subject so a little beating from these guys is ok by me. If I come out wiser from it, I will take the beating any day.
If you want to read some of the sarcasm I have experienced, you can read the link
Forums.Digitalpoint.com
If wickedfire is were all the jocks hang out then digitalpoint is were all the freshman to affiliate marketing get their first experience on this type of online social enviroment. This place has as much as over 2k visitors per day asking advice on all subjects internet marketing. I read posts on people losing their money all the time from this forum, but it is a great place to introduce yourself as a internet marekting specialist and to introduce your products to the masses if your serious about getting your reputation going. The noobie ratio on this forum is much greater than experienced marketers so if your experienced and want to make some money, that would be the place to start.
There you have it, two forums that have all the information you will ever need to know about internet marketing and creating an online business but with a different set of rules to follow. My thoughts are this, if I want to be the best affiliate marketer on the internet, then I have to hang out were the good ones are. Success is the company you seek.
Let me know your thoughts. . . .

joetech.com blog contest
Now a days there are a lot of bloggers that are using cash money to promote their blogs and joetech.com has a good one going on.

I qoute:
To gain entries into the contest, just do any of the following:
- Make a comment of value (not just "i agree", etc.) on a post = 1 entry (remember to comment on all blogs)
- Subscribe to RSS via email = 2 entries (per blog you subscribe to!)
- Write a post about the contest on your blog (must include a link to this page and the links below to participating blogs) = 25 entries
Please note: If you are already subscribed to any of the sites below, you are already earning entries. Also, to get credit for posting about the contest, your post's link must show up in the comments below or in the comments on one of the other blogs below.
How much easier can we make it? So you can sneak in with just one entry by simply posting a comment here, you can increase your odds by reading and commenting on a few more posts here and at one of the blogs below and maybe subscribe to a couple, or you can really up the odds and subscribe to all all of our blogs (which you'll enjoy reading anyway), comment on a bunch of posts, and blog about this contest. The more entries you earn, the better your odds, of course. If you're going to post about this contest, just grab the image and code from here.
The deadline for this contest is 12:00 AM April 1, 2008.
Who wants to pay you?
- JoeTech.com
- Link Bait
- Gorilla Sushi
- CK Marketing
- The Big Bald Blog
- How 2 Blogger
- Jason Boom
- Mr Javo
Pretty simple rules, the only thing I don't have is time to create email addresses to enter to the blog but contests like these are going on all the time.

The Best Sales letter is in your Inbox
I really wanted to point out how effective a sales letter can be by using the current events of the day. Take for example this sample email:
Internet Marketing in an Ecomonic Downturn...
Dear Louie,
Regardless of how much we understand about the economy, I'm pretty sure each and every one of us understands that right now it's not doing to well. The "Economic Tornado" is coming, and everything, even internet based companies, are in it's path.
Let me explain...
Jim Bryer has a unique perspective. He sits on the board of directors for Facebook (startup company) and Wal-Mart (which has some deep roots).
Jim says, "Silicon Valley is often very delusional," he continues. "So one of the challenges is to step back and say, 'If there is a recession, why won't advertising spending be cut dramatically? And if advertising spending is cut dramatically, why doesn't that deeply affect our consumer Internet companies?' It's always my view that it does."
Think about this. Business owners and advertisers (you and I) continue to spend less on advertising on sites like Google and Yahoo (both of which have already seen a recent decline in advertising). Our sales go down, cause we're not advertising as much, and everyone is making less money. Or are we?
What I believe we'll be FORCED to look further into, is free, or results based marketing methods. Methods like I'll be teaching next week in my Web 2.0 Bootcamp.
Using methods like Facebook and Myspace cost us nothing, while allowing us to target market our customers, while creating interaction - which pay per click models don't do.
Email marketing? I can make several thousands of dollars by sending out an email like this one. How? I'll show you in the bootcamp.
Affiliate marketing is tricky, but once you get it, you have a commission only sales force, ready to sell for you. If they don't sell your product or service, you have no costs. Unlike pay per click, where you hope you sell them cause you already spent money in getting them there.
We'll cover all these strategies next week. I hope you join me.

Mike's sales letter made me want to look into it further and read more about what it was all about which is proof to me that a powerful sales letter using current events can create the impulse. I hear alot of people telling me that people don't want to read long copy but I always disagree when I hear that coming my way and so should every affiliate marketer wanting to get ahead of this game. So the next time you don't have any good ideas on how to write a good sales letter, check your inbox.
